of Gerund, Participle and Infinitive
Introduction:
In
this unit, we are going to discuss with non-finite verbs that plays a great
rule in English sentences. We have to use non-finite verbs-
1. to express the name of
events, occurrence, activities, etc.
2. to enlarge simple
sentences including finite and non-finite
verbs.
3. to make phrases. ie, to
enlarge the subject, object or
complements with their
qualifiers/modifiers.
** It is very sorry to say that there isn’t enough discussion with the non-finite verbs to understand their usages in English grammar. But non-finite verbs play a great role in English Sentences. As a result, every foreign learner has to face great difficulties to understand and use this type of verbs. However, we are going to discuss with non-finite verbs and their usages in the sentences
There are three kinds of non-finite verbs. They are-
a)
Gerund,
b)
Participle, and
c)
Infinitive.
