Gerund is used in a sentence as the object of a transitive verb:

    a transitive verb:
1. He learns driving.

Gerund –‘driving’. 
And, it is used as the object of transitive verb ‘learns’. 
  ‘driving’ expresses the name of a an action.

2. Karim learns drawing.
Gerund –‘drawing’.
 And, it is used as the object of transitive verb ‘learns’. 
 ‘drawing’ expresses the name of a an action.

3. Children like eating candy.
Gerund – ‘eating.
 And it is used as the object of transitive verb ‘like’. 
‘eating’ expresses the name of a an action.

4. Do you like eating ice-cream?
   Gerund – ‘eating’.
   And it is used as the object of transitive verb ‘like’. 
‘eating’ expresses the name of a an action.

Now try to understand the following sentences and explain how the Gerunds are used.
