2. Adverb Clause of Place:

This type of clause tells us where the action occurs/happens in the main clause.

(এ ধরনের clause, main clause এর ক্রিয়া সংঘটিত হওয়ার স্থান সম্পর্কে বলে।)   

Generally starts with where, whence, wherever, etc.

1. He wants to go where his father is working.

In this sentence,

main clause: He wants to go.

Adverb Clause of place: where his father is working. 

If you ask a question with ‘where’ to the action occurring in the main clause, you’ll get the adverb clause of place.  

অর্থাৎ তুমি যদি main clause এর ক্রিয়াকে where দিয়ে প্রশ্ন কর উত্তরে Adverb clause of place পাবে।

Question: Where does he want to go?

Answer: Where his father is working.(Adverb clause of place.)

যেখান থেকে এসেছো সেখানে ফিরে যাও।

Question: Where do I go back?    

Answer: ‘whence you came’

So, ‘whence you came’  is Adverb Clause of place.

3. You may go wherever you like.

তোমার যেখানে ভালো লাগে যেতে পার।

Question: Where may  I go?    

Answer: ‘wherever you like’

So, ‘wherever you like’  is Adverb Clause of place.

4. You may stay where you are. 

তুমি যেথায় আছ থাকতে পার।

Question: Where may I stay?    

Answer: ‘where you are’

So, ‘where you are’  is Adverb Clause of place.

 5. There is a way where there is a will.

যেখানে ইচ্ছা আছে সেখানে উপায় আছে।( ইচ্ছা থাকলে উপায় হয়।)

Question: Where is a way?    

Answer: ‘where there is a will’

So, ‘where there is a will’  is Adverb Clause of place.

6. Ann is going where her mother is living.

যেখানে এনের মা থাকেতেছে সে সেখানে যাচ্ছে।

Question: Where is Ann going?    

Answer: ‘where her mother is living’

So, ‘where her mother is living’  is Adverb Clause of place.

7. Ram wants to remain sleeping where he is.

রাম যেখানে আছে সেখানেই ঘুমিয়ে থাকতে চায়।

Question: Where does Ram want to remain sleeping?    

Answer: ‘where he is’

So, ‘where he is’  is Adverb Clause of place.

8. You may sleep wherever you like.

তোমার যেখানে ভালো লাগে ঘুমোতে পার।

Question: Where may I sleep?    

Answer: ‘wherever you like’

So, ‘wherever you like’  is Adverb Clause of place.

9. Everyone’s shadow follows him wherever he goes.

একজন যেখানেই যাক তার ছায়া তাকে অনুসরণ করবে।

Question: Where does everyone’s shadow follow him?    

Answer: ‘wherever he goes’

So, ‘wherever he goes’  is Adverb Clause of place.

10. I want to remain sitting where I am.

আমি যেখানে আছি সেখানেই বসে থাকতে চাই।

Question: Where do you want to remain sitting?    

Answer: ‘where I am’

So, ‘where I am’  is Adverb Clause of place.
