of reason or cause
This subordinate
clause tells us why the action/ event occurs/happens in the main clause.
এ Subordinate Clause, Main Clause এর ক্রিয়া সংঘটিত হওয়ার কারণ সম্পর্কে বলে।
Adverb Clause of Reason/ Cause is introduced with because, as, since etc.
Such as…
1. He’ll not/ won’t
go because he is ill.
সে অসুস্থ এ
কারণে সে যাবে না।
Adverb clause of reason: ‘because he is
ill’. And it tells the
cause/ reason of
the action in the main clause.
আবার Main Clause এর ক্রিয়াকে why দিয়ে প্রশ্ন
করলে উত্তরে Adverb Clause of Cause/
Reason পাওয়া যায়।
Question:
Why won’t he go?
Answer:
‘because he is ill’.
So, ‘because he is
ill’ is the Adverb clause of Time
And it tells us the
cause of event occurring in the main clause.
2. I couldn’t
attend the party as I was ill.
আমি অসুস্থ
ছিলাম এ কারণে পার্টিতে অংশ নিতে পারিনি।
Question:
Why you couldn’t attend the party?
Answer:
‘as I was ill’.
So, ‘as I was ill’
is the Adverb clause of Cause/ Reason
And it tells us the
cause of event/action occurring in the main clause.
3. I’m happy
because you have passed in the exam.
আমি সুখী কারণ তুমি পরীক্ষায় পাস করেছো।
Question:
Why are you happy?
Answer:
‘because you have passed in the exam’
So, ‘because you have passed in the exam’ is the Adverb
clause of Cause/ Reason
And it tells us the
cause of event/action occurring in the main clause.
4. He has to earn
for his family because his father died.
তাকে তার পরিবারের জন্য রোজগার করতে হয় কারণ তার
পিতা মৃত্যুবরণ করেছিল।
Question:
Why does he have to earn for his family?
Answer:
‘because his father died’
So, ‘because his father died’ is the Adverb clause of Cause/
Reason
And it tells us the
cause of event/action occurring in the main clause.
5. Because you are
ill, you needn’t come.
তোমার আসা দকার নেই কারণ তুমি অসুস্থ।
Question:
Why needn’t I come?
Answer:
‘Because you are ill’
So, ‘Because you are ill’
is the Adverb clause of Cause/ Reason.
And it tells us the
cause of event/action occurring in the main clause.

complex sentence introduces with the adverb
clause, a coma will
be pushed after the adverb clause.
Otherwise coma

because they are very poor.
15. He has become
sick as he has been starving for three days.
16. He can’t carry
this load because he is a little boy.
17. This orphan
couldn’t lead his life because he is quite wealth less.
18. This boat can’t
carry 20 people because it’s very small.
19. The auditorium
couldn’t carry 400 people because it’s not so big.
