Adverb Clause of Result

6. Adverb clause of Result:
This type of clause explains the result or consequence of the action in main clause. 
এ ধরনের Subordinate Clause, Complex Sentence এর Main Clause এর ক্রিয়ার ফলাফল সম্পর্কে বলে।   

1. He spoke so well that everyone was charmed.
Adverb clause of result: ‘that everyone was charmed’.
It tells us the result of the action in main clause (He spoke so well) .

2. The sum was so hard that he couldn’t do it.
Adverb clause of result: ‘that he couldn’t do it’.
It tells us the result of the action in main clause ( The sum was so hard).
3. The boy is such a fool that you can’t depend on him.
Adverb clause of result: ‘that you can’t depend on him’.
It tells us the result of the action in main clause (The boy is such a fool).
4. The milk is so hot that I can’t drink it.
Adverb clause of result: ‘that I can’t drink it’.
It tells us the result of the action in main clause (The milk is so hot).
5. They fought so bravely that the enemies were driven off.
Adverb clause of result: ‘that the enemies were driven off’.
It tells us the result of the action in main clause (They fought so bravely).

Find the adverb clauses of result in the following sentences,  thus you can explain their relation with the main clauses.
6. He is such a good man that all respect him.
 7. The Romans built such a way that their walls are still standing.
8. He spoke such a low voice that few could hear him.
9. Such a terrible disease broke out that very few of the people survived.
Or, So terrible a disease broke out that very few people survived.
10. He was so weak (that) he couldn’t speak.
→→ Note: Sometimes, this type of complex sentence may be formed without using a subordinating conjunction or linking word.
11. It was so late (that) I waited no longer.
12. He is so old (that) he can hardly walk.
13. It was such a hot day that we decided to stay in doors
Or,  It was so hot a day that we decided to stay indoors.

14. It was such an interesting book that he couldn’t put it down.
Or, It was so interesting a book that he couldn’t put it down.

15. She has such exceptional abilities that everyone are jealous of  her.
16. She had such bad luck that she decided not to gamble.
17. This is such difficult home work that I can never finish.
18. The water was so salty that none could drink it.
19.  The patient was so weak that he can’t move an inch.
20. The load was so heavy that I couldn’t carry it.
