1. Dhaka is bigger than any other city in Bangladesh (is).

    Or, Dhaka is bigger than all other cities in Bangladesh (are).

Adverb Clause of Degree in the 1st sentence: than any other  

     city in Bangladesh is.

Adverb Clause of Degree in the 2nd sentence: than all other  

     cities in Bangladesh are.

Note: ‘is’ or ‘are’ in the 1st & 2nd subordinate clauses   

         respectively isn’t needed to use in the complex sentences.

         They should be omitted there.

         And it is applicable for every complex sentence.

***Remember : All the sentences with comparative degrees are complex sentence,

        sentences with positive degrees are compound sentences and sentences with 

        superlative degrees are simple sentences. 

           

2. Iron is more useful than any other metal.

   Or, Iron is more useful than all other metals.

  Adverb Clause of Degree in the 1st one: than any other metal is.

  Adverb Clause of Degree in the 2nd one: than all other metals are.
